Another
meticulously researched book by this admirable author, investigating the
9/11 plane crashes. There are dozens of serious flaws in the official story
of a bunch of Al Qaeda fanatics hijacking and piloting and crashing 4 commercial
jet airliners in a short space of time; for instance if the official version
was true, then the various US "intelligence" agencies (the CIA,
DIA, FBI, etc) must have failed in their duties disastrously; yet not one
single person amongst them has been sacked or even reprimanded, and the
US "intelligence" budget has subsequently been increased to a
staggering 40 billion dollars per year, more than than the entire GNP of
many third-world countries. So the evidence suggests that the security services
did not fail the government, they did as they were told, let the disasters
happen, and were rewarded for it. However several lower-level CIA and FBI
employees have gone public, and revealed that they knew full well of the
impending 9/11 attacks, but their reports were blocked or ignored by their
superiors (and the mainstream media).
Another serious anomaly Marrs covers is the stock market "forward trading",
where millions of dollars were placed prior to 9/11 predicting a drop in
share value of the 2 hijacked airline companies and some of the big companies
housed in the erstwhile World Trade Centre. This fact is documented in stock
market records, and was in the mainstream press soon after 9/11, when Moslems
were the suspects; however the media have quietly dropped the subject since
then, but Marrs pursues it, and finds that the profits from the changed
stock value ended up in America, shrouded in secrecy, but pointing to high-level
government agencies and people (and Marrs names names).
The power and corruption of the mainstream media is an underlying current
in this book; any journalist seriously investigating 9/11 can easily discover
and report some of the innumerable discrepancies in the official version
of events, but in America and most countries, only a tiny fraction of dissent
towards the official version has been printed or screened.
Another blatant anomaly that hasn`t been exposed by the mainstream media
is that on September 12th 2001, when all air traffic in the US was banned,
a private jet with 140 Saudi nationals on board, including several of the
Bin Laden family, was allowed to fly out, with absolutely minimal media
attention. This fact alone proves extreme corruption on the part of the
US government and media; and the rich Bush and Bin Laden families have been
linked in the oil business for decades.
Yet another blatant anomaly Marrs points out is the fact that at around
8.45 am on 9/11, it was known by the authorities that the 4 airliners had
been hijacked, an unprecedented and sensational occurence. Under normal
procedure military jets would have immediately scrambled airborne and dealt
with the airliners. However, the first 2 planes hit the WTC with no jets
around, the 3rd plane hit the Pentagon at 9.40, and the 4th crashed in Pennsylvania
shortly after 10am. So the mighty US Air Force could not manage to intercept
any of the planes, in one hour and 15 minutes. This is farcical. Once again
not one Air Force person has been reprimanded; once again they didn`t fail
in their duties, they did as they were told.
Marrs highlights the corrupt dealings of the Bush family since the 1930s,
and maintains that 9/11 was allowed and encouraged to happen by them and
others, in order to bring about the erosion of civil rights in the US, to
have an excuse to bomb Afghanistan into oblivion in order to secure the
oil pipeline and resurrect the poppy fields, to have an excuse to invade
Iraq in order to get their oil, and to centralise even more power unto themselves.
Altogether a rather disturbing book.
