Behold a Pale Horse by William Cooper

Cooper was in the US military at a high level for decades, and in this book he reveals many top secret incidents and policies that he experienced during his military career. He particularly focuses on UFOs and aliens, and their connections with the US government, with some mind-blowing details. Along with several other researchers, Cooper describes how the US government made a deal with one species of aliens in the 1950s, in which the aliens were/are allowed limited experiments on animals, and on humans as long as they didn`t kill or injure them, in return for advanced technology, to be used for peaceful/ecologically-sound purposes: the aliens don`t want the earth to be destroyed because it`s a highly diverse and valuable resource (with a human workforce). Apparently both parties have reneged on the deal, as the aliens have hurt and killed plenty of humans and abducted countless thousands, and mutilated thousands of cattle, and the US military have used their advanced technology for military purposes, eg stealth bombers, smart bombs, the Echelon and HAARP global surveillance systems etc, and accelarated the destruction of the planet.
Another major theme is that Cooper regards the US government/military as the biggest threat to global life and liberty, and warns that they could very easily declare a state of emergency in the US (on some pretext or other), with zero human rights or democracy.
In a tragic postscript (not included in the book), in 2003 armed US police raided his house on a trivial firearms licence rap and shot him dead in cold blood on his doorstep.
