| The Tao of Physics by Fritjof Capra |
This
book is outstanding. Fritjof manages to marry many 'new' scientific
discoveries with what religions seem to have known for years. Cross
referencing religious manuscripts with scientific writings he shows
that the great spiritual leaders of our time 'saw' the building blocks
of life they just didn't name them. From Quantum Physics to Space
and time he shows the parallels in thinking and beliefs. Medium read
but well worth it.

This
book is outstanding. A great history of how Scientific discoveries
have changed religious views through the ages. From Galileo's discovery

had on Christian teachings to the end of the universe and what that
means to man. Great read not anti religion but shows how lessons can
change our perception of why we are here.

| Food Combining for Health by Doris Grant and Jean Joyce |
Another
excellent health/nutrition book first published in 1984 which has
stood the test of time, unlike many other "temporary fad"
diet books. This is about the Hay system, worked out by Dr. William
Hay in the early decades of the 1900s, and refined and improved since
then. The authors explain in detail the importance of eating food
in correct combinations, and give simple guidelines on how to achieve
this. They also give plenty of additional diet/health information,
a lot of which is plain common sense, including an excellent section
on acid- and alkaline-forming foods. The second half of the book is
devoted to recipes.
